The Big Difference

The Big Difference
Written and transcribed by Terry Grant

This is a continuation of a message I have transcribed and edited from a talk Ishvara gave on February 21, 2006. - TG.

Ishvara:

Everyone of you has far more potential than you make use of. That potential is in waiting. Your potential will not leave you; it will be there whenever you become ready for it. So it is a matter of getting ready for it, and not comparing it to somebody else. That is one of the great stumbling blocks: comparing yourself to others. You cannot compare your experience with someone else's experience; that becomes delusional.

You begin to understand how YOUR intellect works, how your intellect is programmed from the past, and how there are expectations, resistances, and judgments in that programming. I watch you in this. I watch everyone of you. When you start projecting onto other people, I know precisely where you are. That tells me exactly where you are. It would be funny if it were not so painful sometimes. When you are projecting something, that exposes you, because the nature of the conditional intellect is to project a problem onto the outside.

Projection occurs in the consensus world all the time: Someone else is "the evil one," someone else is doing wrong. If human beings would start taking responsibility for the crud they put into their lives, the world could be transformed overnight. But instead, people project blame: they have to blame this, blame that, they have this excuse, that excuse, this addiction, "can't do this," "can't do that." They are a bunch of week ninnies.

You are called to be different. You know more. You see something bigger. As you have the courage to allow that awareness to unfold, things are going to happen. It will not look very much different on the outside, but there will be an all-rightness with things without accepting defeat.

You cannot accept defeat. You hold to the sense that you are all right, you are working your way through it, you are seeing higher possibilities, and you are allowing for the body to change as it needs to change. You are taking the steps, doing the things you know to do.

There is no excuse any more. There is no excuse for being less-than. When you really grasp that, you are in a very powerful place. You are in a powerful place when you see that there is no excuse for limitation, no excuse for weakness, no excuse for addictions. Yes, excuses are human nature, but you are the new human beings. You have qualities you don't yet know about. This work involves emphasizing those qualities, getting them out in the open where you can begin to work with them, play with them, and see that you do have potential, that there are possibilities.

In this process, the body will change. But mostly it is a feeling, an intense feeling of connection and transcendence, where you realize there is really no limitation.

I have done everything I can do to this point. There is a cosmic dimension to this: I can only go so far, because if I go too far I create separation. I have gone as far as I can, said as much as I can, done as much as I can in the way of demonstrating this. It becomes redundant after a while; one no longer appreciates it. It is important for each of you to appreciate what you have received already. Appreciation goes a long way. This includes appreciating how good you really have it. Everyone of you has it better than the consensus world, because you have something that other people don't have. You have been given something that other people could have if they would take it, but you have had enough courage to reach out and take it, and that makes the difference.

The world is in a desperate situation. You are not a part of that. To a great extent, you are insulated from that, because you know something. You should count your lucky stars and realize how insulated you are from it, how protected you are from what is happening in the world. You look at people you know, and you see how they are frightened, how they are projecting right and left, how they are living in fear and survival, struggling and sick. When you think about that, and look at the quality of your life and see how it is steadily transforming, you can see the difference. Yes, you can screw things up occasionally, but that is human. You also know better, so you can rebound very quickly. In that way, you do not become stuck. That is the big difference.
